What is proper roller rink skating etiquette?

I am taking a group of first grade brownies skating. One of the questions we need to answer is proper roller rink skating etiquett practices. Hopeing some of you could come up with safty and etiquette practices for me to share with my troop.

What is proper roller rink skating etiquette?
To wear pants or skorts.

If you are passing someone closely, she should say "Passing on your left.

Slower skaters to the outside edge. New skaters, in the center.

No food or drink (this means gum) whilst on the skate floor.

If you accidentally trip someone, it is polite to turn around and appologise and offer a hand up.
Reply:Tell them not to do the whip. (when they all hold hands and the last person gets whipped or thrown from the line), no conga lines, no roller-derby style skating.

The roller rink should have a list of rules posted. Maybe you could call them for these rules ahead of time.

Have fun!
Reply:Call the roller rink where you will take them and ask them.
Reply:No running inside the rink.

No tripping, or skating into anyone on purpose.

Try not to grab onto anyone else if they feel like they are going to fall.

No food or drinks on the actual skating floor.

Make sure skates stay tied and if they come untied, leave the rink floor before they tie them.(stopping in the middle of the rink is trouble waiting to happen)

Make sure wheels and stoppers are tight before starting to skate.(nothing worse than to get going and have one or the other fly off)

Hope that helps. Have fun and good luck!
Reply:Have fun.
