I was invited to a 80's themed roller skating party. Should i dress up in 1980's attire?

My friend rented out a roller rink for his 30th birthday party. The invite did not say to dress up in retro attire, however, I think it would be fun.

Shall I? And if so what should I wear?

Yes you should go....

options for Girls:

Dark sunglasses

Tight blue skirt. White shirt.

pink men's style dress shirt with buttons on collar and 'chic' brand jeans. Doubt you'll find the jeans.

Options for boys

boot-cut jeans (has a small flare at the bottom, but not a huge one.)

dark sunglasses and a cheap blue suit

adidas tennis shoes (until you actually start skating)

hair parted in the middle and layered. Grow hair long down back of neck, but not below neck.

best movie to watch to get ideas: Breakfast Club
Reply:well ask your friend if u have to dress up, if u do, then get some groovy shorts and shirts and get ready to do the hustle.
Reply:Why not? The worst that could happen is, nobody else is dressed up but you, and you'll fit the mood perfectly! I hear that costume stores carry some excellent 80's apparell these days.
Reply:yea u should!
Reply:ABSOLUTELY! Oh, that is going to be so much fun! Definitely dress up in retro. If you have longer hair, put it up in a ponytail, but make sure your pony tail is on the side of your head. Also, put on SKIN TIGHT jeans! OR overalls, but the overalls don't have to be skin tight. Under your overalls, wear a fairly tight tank top, oh and undo one side of your overalls, just about forgot about that. Okay, then HEY, you can even wear spandex!! But whatever you have on, make sure you have leg warmers on and pushed pretty far down your leg. Actually the leg warmers are for the tight pants. For overalls, you have to tie a bandana on the side of your pants part and if you have another, tie it around your ankle on the outside of your pant leg. Try to get your overalls a little longer so you can roll up the cuff once. Try to find some high-tops for your feet!

Oh, I love this! I grew up in the eighties, and this is bringing back so many memories. Your make up should be quite heavy, and eyeliner should be blue. Blue eyeshadow too, if you can get away with it. Big hoop ear-rings, the bigger the better. Oh, I was going to mention, if you can't get away with the ponytail, try to make your hair BIG BIG BIG! Back combing the heck out of it will make it big. If you can get a hold of a Chip and Pepper tie dye shirt, wear it! Remember to tie the corner of it so there is a knot on one side. If you have longer hair with bangs; you could use a banana comb for the back, and then make the bangs really BIG! I used to wear mine like that. I used TONS of hair spray also. I dont' think I can think of anything else..hmmmm...oh, if you have any facial jewellery, take it off. That was a no no in the eighties. I can't think of anything else right now. If I do, I'll modify my answer.

IF not, HAVE FUN!!! GOOD LUCK! I wish it was me...lol...
Reply:AS LONG AS YOU ARE HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Reply:definately! claro que si google / ask a friend
Reply:Big hair, blue eye-shadow, a top with big shoulder-pads so you look like a football player, preferably all-over sequins in a really bright color like electric blue. Really tight-sprayed on jeans and dont forget the leg-warmers! I was a teenager in the 80's and thats EXACTLY what I would have worn to a party like the one you described. Have a blast, its sounds fun :)
Reply:Yes, do it.
Reply:sounds like fun!!..go onto google images and look at the 80s fashion designs as i have no idea what you like/dislike...
