In this movie there are a group of kids who where skates and one of the kids (the youngest) has this glowing orb. A memorable scene is when the group must slingshot each other on skates over a void of some sort. its been a very long time and jus curious if anyone knew what i was talking about.

Yep, 'Solarbabies'.
Jami Gertz %26amp; Jason Patric made this one year before they made 'The Lost Boys' together. It also features Dom Deluise's son Peter, who now directs several 'Stargate' spin-offs as well as 'Kyle XY'. And 'Solarbabies' features a young Adrian Pasdar, better known as the half-vampire from 'Near Dark' and as 'the flying man' on NBC's Heroes.
