For a 150 pound person for 1 hour:


Walking - 4 mph


340 calories in 1 hr


Roller Skating


476 calories in 1 hr





According to those calculations, roller skating actually burns more calories.

Is roller skating an effective form of excercise, or is walking better?
Both are good exercise. Do which ever you like.
