If you can roller skate and roller blade -does it stand to reason you should be able to ice skate ?

Or is it different?

Ice skating and roller blading are different, but they do use some of the same types of skills. You can learn to ice skate though just like you learn how to roller blade.
Reply:ya its the same thing on diffrent turf
Reply:yes.

same thing
Reply:um...not really, im an excellent rollerblader, get me on the ice and i look like an idiot. theres a difference- no matter what anyone else says.
Reply:It's a lot different! I'm a really good inline skater, but I was shocked when I got on the ice! But I got the hang of ice-skating in 30 minutes, it's similar motions.

BTW- It's inline skating, not "Rollerblading". Rollerblade is an inline company.
Reply:If you are really good at lets say roller-blading then you may have a little trouble skating so I suggest that you talk to someone at a local rink and see what they think about it.

For me it was about the same but everyone is different and may have different ways to learn things.
Reply:It's a similar motion, but most people feel awkward their first time on the ice even if they've rollerskated.

With most kids, give them an hour on the ice and by the end they're going along just fine.
Reply:no diff son
Reply:It's way different, because it is more slippery on the ice, and you have to have a lot of traction. I am however, good at rollerblading, because I figure skate.
