Should I get my 3 year old a skateboard or roller skates for her birthday?

And which brand of each, I don't know what brands or where to find them and in a young childs size.

roller skates, helmet, elbow, knee, wrist guards. dont get her a skateboard cuz shes gonna fall off n break her butt. the skates will b challenging enough. u could get the skates that expand as she grows so u can have one pair instead of having to buy lots of em. i loved my skates when i was little, but all the pads and stuff are a neccesity..i didnt have em, so i should know! i skated over a twig and it stopped my skates, throwin me to the ground...i tried to catch myself and wound up fracturing my wrist. later i had rollerblades n thankfully had the wrist guards etc and i was glad cuz i took a few spills n didnt break anything. whatever u do, dont get her one of those razor scooters. i was on one a few years back (no pads, helmet or anything) and fell n split my chin wide open. the doctor said they see tons of kids coming in w the exact same thing from those scooters. go with the skates n all the gear.

Reply:try a pair of those sneakers that you can change to roller skates. my daughter had those and she just loved them. you just flip a little thing on the buttom of the shoe and the wheels come out. you can put them back at any time. I think you can buy them at wal-mart or sears stores

I believe safety is an important issue. The old saying says better safe than sorry. Hope she enjoys the skates.

Reply:roller skates, by far. you can hold her hand while she is ddoing that. most likely she will hurt herself on a skateboard
Reply:3 year old? Well, ok, a skateboard. Safer than rollerblades, so get a cheap small one from Wal-Mart. It will inspire him/her, and if he/she's good at skateboarding, he/she can make money off of it these days.
