Might have even been early sixties, what year did this song come out? Who was the artist? Can you tell me more about her? It was one of my favorite songs as a child. Also "Oh Cecilia" what year and what artist if you know please, thanks.
70's song "I've got a brand new pair of roller skates, you've got a brand new key"?
The song is 'Brand New Key' by Melanie. The song first came out in 1971. There's some great info about it here:

It was also on the soundtrack of "Boogie Nights."
'Cecilia' was on Simon %26amp; Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" album, which came out in (I think) 1970. Probably one of my all-time favourite records.

Reply:The first song you refer to is Brand New Key by Melanie (Saftka) it was released in the early 1970's and featured in the 1998 film "Boogie Nights".Melanie was from Long Island NY and was also a backing singer in the Edwin Hawkiins Singers.
The second track you refer to is probably Cecilia by Simon and Garfunkel which appeared on their Bridge Over Troubled Water album of 1970.
