Why is it diffucult to start moving forward or come to a stop when you're wearing roller skates?

An object in motion tends to stay in motion, an object at rest tends to stay at rest...

So since your mass is far greater than the mass of the wheels on your roller skates, you have to move them quite a bit to get the rest of you going.....

Why is it diffucult to start moving forward or come to a stop when you're wearing roller skates?
use your toe or heal stop.
Reply:the mu constant between the roller skates and the ground is minimal. The higher the mu the more friction there will be. If you were roller skating on ice, there would be no friction so you would go extremely fast. If you were roller skating on sand you wouldn't move.
